A Drawing of Enderslea Farm Around 1877

A Drawing of Enderslea Farm Around 1877

This drawing was owned by Douglas Jecks a descendant of Henry and Sarah Morley.

He was in the road looking at the farm when my father Ken Clarke went up and said hello. As a result we received a coloured photocopy of this drawing.

After Douglas and my father had died I saw this original being auctioned in Perth, West Australia. It was labelled as site unknown and artist unknown. Of course, I knew it was Enderslea Farm and Douglas had said that it was drawn about 1877. I was determined to get the drawing  whatever the price.

So now it hangs happily in the dining room at Enderslea. Its frame is very similar to that framing the Hardey Portraits at the National Trust property Tranby Farm at Maylands.
